Company Supports “Extreme Makeover” of Naval Academy Primary School

Annapolis, MD, August 15, 2007:  M.C. Dean, Inc. was honored today at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the renovated Naval Academy Primary School (NAPS) in Annapolis.  The firm, which is one of the nation’s leading U.S. Navy contractors, performed extensive upgrades on the school’s electrical and lighting systems, donating both time and materials to make improvements.

The NAPS renovation was part of ABC 7’s Built on a Dream series.  The program is modeled on the ABC television show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, and is aimed at providing improvements to facilities operated by local non-profit organizations in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC areas.  NAPS was the first beneficiary of this series, and the private, non-profit school received more than $150,000 in goods, services, and donations from area contractors, including M.C. Dean, Inc.

NAPS has been serving military families and staff of the United States Naval Academy for 100 years.  NAPS provides affordable, quality education to children from pre-kindergarten to the fifth grade.  The school is located in the former Bachelor’s Officers Quarters, which needs a great deal of renovation.  The Built Upon a Dream Team is renovating the lighting, plumbing, painting, flooring, bathrooms, and landscaping of the facility.

Jason Massoth, Operations Manager for M.C. Dean, Inc. said, “I am honored to have been a part of this project.  M.C. Dean, Inc. has a long history of service to the U.S. Navy, extending back to the creation of our company, by a U.S. Navy veteran.  This renovation, and our current Wesley Brown Field House project at the Naval Academy, are especially meaningful to M.C. Dean, Inc. because these facilities support the quality of life of our servicemen and women and those who train and educate them.”
